Blackfoot is also home to one of the few remaining old-fashioned State Fairs. The Eastern Idaho State Fair is held every year beginning on Labor Day weekend and attracts thousands of visitors. Events include a parade, a carnival, a rodeo and pari-mutuel racing. The Indian Relay races are not to be missed. But the best part, the thing that keeps locals and visitors alike coming back year after year, is the food. Local and regional vendors serve up homemade delights of every kind--dutch oven meals, Greek food, tacos, egg rolls, potato ice cream- the list goes on and on.
