Idaho getting stimulus money
Idaho has not been as hard hit by the recession as some other states but it is reaping the most federal stimulus money per capita. $245.63 person has been awarded so far, according to a USA Today analysis. The national average is $13.
Federal agencies have awarded $4 billion in federal stimulus contracts so far, according to USA Today's analysis of contracts disclosed through the Federal Procurement Data System.
Idaho is getting its largest chunk of cash for the Idaho National Lab in Eastern Idaho.
The stimulus package was intended to get the economy going again by creating jobs through so-called 'shovel ready' projects.
More awards could be given as the process progresses.
